What you'll do

We are thrilled to announce an exciting opportunity for an onsite Mechanical Assembler, Temporary to join our dynamic team in Duluth, GA!

As a Mechanical Assembler, you'll use your mechanical skills to build and assemble large antennas for Viasat. You'll work as part of a larger team in our Manufacturing area, using light equipment and tools to put together assemblies. You'll also help move equipment and integrate finished assemblies into our bigger systems. We're looking for people with a strong work ethic who are eager to learn. We'll train you on everything you need to know, including how to follow documentation and procedures, to ensure the job is done right.


The day-to-day

  • Assemble and integrate mechanical components and assemblies for large antenna systems.
  • Use hand and power tools, as well as light equipment, to perform assembly tasks.
  • Follow detailed work instructions, blueprints, and diagrams.
  • Perform quality checks on finished products to ensure they meet specifications.
  • Collaborate with team members to achieve production goals and maintain a safe and efficient work environment.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area.
  • Additional duties may be assigned or required.

What you'll need
  • 2+ years of experience in mechanical assembly, which can include professional or personal experience using tools like drills and impact drivers.
  • A High School Diploma or GED is required.
  • Ability to read and follow fabrication drawings and detailed instructions.
  • Experience working with Bills of Material and Engineering Change Orders.
  • Ability to install components such as bearings, gears, and motors.
  • Willing and able to lift up to 50 lbs.
  • General computer knowledge is required for this role.
  • Must be able to successfully complete a pre-employment drug and alcohol screening.
  • Must be available Monday through Friday, from 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM with the ability to work overtime as needed.
  • US Citizenship or Permanent Resident status is required.

Salary range

$19.71 - $31.25 / hourly. For specific work locations within San Jose, the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, the base pay range for this role is $24.52 - $37.02/ hourly
