We are hiring a dependable and skilled
Generator Mechanic / Service Technician to join our growing team. This field-based role is ideal for candidates with mechanical and electrical repair experienceparticularly with small engines, standby generators, or automatic transfer switches (ATS).
Key Responsibilities: - Travel to residential job sites using a company-provided service vehicle
- Perform diagnostics, routine maintenance, and repairs on whole-home standby generators
- Troubleshoot and service mechanical and electrical components, including ATS systems
- Read and interpret electrical wiring diagrams, blueprints, and technical manuals
- Clearly communicate with customers regarding services performed and any recommendations
- Accurately document all work in our service management software
- Follow safety protocols and industry best practices when working around electricity
- Support emergency service calls during weather-related outages or storms, as needed
Qualifications: - 1+ years of experience in generator service, small engine repair, or related mechanical/electrical work
- Strong customer service and verbal communication skills
- Ability to read schematics, wiring diagrams, and service manuals
- Comfortable working independently in the field with minimal supervision
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Valid drivers license with a clean driving record
- Physically able to perform job duties, including climbing ladders, lifting equipment, and working in outdoor environments
- Familiarity with residential generator systems and ATS technology is a plus
Position Details: - Schedule: Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM 5:00 PM (occasional flexibility required for emergencies)
- Job Type: Full-time
- Compensation: Based on experience and skill level
- Travel: Local/regional service calls using a company-provided vehicle
